Photo Exhibit

Happy Birthday, Shiloh!, a photo exhibit exploring the first fifty years of the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, opens Tuesday, May 15. The exhibit is part of the museum's 50th anniversary celebration in 2018, and will be on view through December 15. The Shiloh Museum is located at 118 W. Johnson Avenue in downtown Springdale. Veterans History Project

Col. (Ret.) Anita Deason, senior military and veterans liaison for U.S. Sen. John Boozman, will discuss her work with the Arkansas Veterans Oral History Project, Wednesday, May 16, at noon at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Col. Deason has trained more than 400 Arkansans to conduct and submit interviews with local veterans as part of a nationwide effort to preserve and make accessible the personal stories of American war veterans. All interviews are housed at the Library of Congress. To date, the stories of 1,200 veterans from Arkansas have been recorded.

Coded Letters

The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History will explore ways Civil War soldiers wrote secret letters during wartime in a program called "Coded Letters," Saturday, May 19, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Kids of all ages are invited to make their own coded letter to send to a relative or special friend. The program is part of the museum's Shiloh Saturday series for families. The Shiloh Museum is located at 118 W. Johnson Avenue in downtown Springdale. MEETINGS AT THE MUSEUM
LifeWriters
LifeWriters, a group for people interested in writing the stories of their own lives or those of family and friends, will meet Monday, May 7 and Monday, May 21, at 10:00 a.m. at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History.
