Humane Society of the Ozarks donates Commercial Washer/Dryer!

Special thanks to the Humane Society of the Ozarks for their generous donation of commercial washer/dryer units to SAS. The new units are up and running, and staff are all smiles. HSO's efforts to help the agencies who share in accommodating the needs off our regions animals and citizens is greatly appreciated. Their generosity and continued efforts to foster strong alliances and networking between all of our region's animal control and welfare groups is an inspiration to us all. Through these relationships we will undoubtedly improve services and raise standards of care for the citizens and animals we all serve. Thanks for giving us the tools to do a better job!
Sam's Club Food Drive

Springdale Animal Services and Sam’s Club teamed up for a Summer Pet Food Drive this Saturday, July 24th, from 10 AM to 2 PM, at the Fayetteville location. Volunteers from our pet foster partner, For Pets’ Sake were on scene with adoptable animals, receiving pet food donations. We took in over 600 pounds of pet food and two dogs, George and Ling Ling were placed in loving homes!
We are always in need of dry or canned dog, puppy, cat, and kitten food to help feed our shelter’s animals, and those of our citizen’s with pets in need.Springdale Animal Services provides shelter and care for over 3000 animals each year. We use over 13,000 lbs of dry pet food every year and over 1,300 ounces of cat food monthly throughout the summer months. When donations exceed our needs, any surplus is distributed to citizens’ pets in need. We rely on donations to help provide for the needs of our communities homeless animals. With the continued generosity of donors, we are able to provide quality care for these animals while they are awaiting their new homes. One 50 lb bag of dog food will feed approximately 50 adult, 50 lb dogs for one day. On average, this would care for all the dogs in the shelter for that day. Your donations really do make a more significant impact than you might think. If the pets you’ve saved could tell you the difference you’ve made. Thanks to our volunteers, adoptors, donors, and Sam's Club for making this another successful event.
Special Screening of Cats and Dogs:The Revenge fo Kitty Galore
Thanks to Purina, 40/29 News, Malco, Warner Brothers for allowing us to promote our adoptable pets at the free screening of Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. Free passes were distributed through local shelters for this event. "Shad" and "Tulip" were on scene to represent. Both of these superdogs were adopted! Thanks to SAS volunteers Deb and Candy for a great job.

Springdale Animal Services participated in this years Humane Society of the Ozark's 18th Annual Dogwood Walk on Saturday, May 22,2010 on the University of Arkansas' Old Main lawn! The Dogwood Walk allowed participants to enjoy booths, demonstrations, contests and a walk around the historic venue all while raising funds to promote the humane treatment of all animals in Northwest Arkansas.
With the help of our oustanding volunteers and staff SAS was able to bring a number of adoptable pets to the event. We ended up with adoptions of 2 and foster homes for 3 those dogs attending! If that wasn't enough success for one day, SAS was presented with a certificate from the HSO for the donation of new commercial washer and dryer units for our shelter.
Thanks so much, HSO. Your generosity and support of the areas shelters is appreciated more than you know. Congratulations to HSO for another successful event!
