The Springdale Parks & Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Youth Sports Coordinator – Salary Grade 18.  Interested persons should submit an application to the HR Department no later than 5:00 p.m. on September 8, 2010.  A summary of the position is listed below:

This position is responsible to plan, organize, and coordinate community sports programs for youth, to perform administrative work, and to communicate with other staff to ensure the effective operation of the youth sports programs.  Preferred requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration or related degree from a four year college or university and 2 years of related experience and/or training; and a minimum of one year managing and directing youth sports programs.  Must possess a valid Arkansas driver’s license. 

The Springdale Parks & Recreation Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Operations Manager.  This position is responsible to plan and administer the maintenance program for the Parks & Recreation Department which includes program management for turf grass, urban forestry, horticulture, public lands, swimming pools, park facilities, and capital improvement.  The position is responsible to plan, schedule, and supervise Parks maintenance employees and also assists with the planning and operations of the recreation programs.  Preferred requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration or related degree from a four year college or university, five (5) years of related experience/training and a minimum of 3 years of management experience.  The City of Springdale offers a starting salary of $45,489 supplemented by an outstanding benefits package.
