The Fire Prevention Division consists of the department's Fire Marshal, who holds the rank of Battalion Chief, and three Fire Inspectors, who hold the rank of Captain.

Activities of this division include Fire Inspection for compliance with Arkansas Fire Codes and City of Springdale Ordinances, Plans Review for new development, and Fire Investigations to determine the origin and cause of fires. In addition, this division coordinates Community Education activities.
