In the early 1900s, one way to market your eggs was to sell them to an egg man, who traveled with a wagonload of eggs from town to town. Hauling eggs over rough dirt roads meant that the wagon had to be cushioned with a bed of straw or cottonseed. This wagon and team belong to J. H. McVay of Healing Springs (Benton County). The man pictured here worked for McVay.
