Stormwater permitting is associated with the
grading permit process outlined in
Chapter 107 - Stormwater Pollution Prevention, Grading, and Erosion Control. A Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) is required for all clearing, grading, filling and development activities.
Additionally, land disturbance of areas of 5 acres or more will usually require a permit from the
Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) in addition to a Springdale grading permit.
Most activities are covered by general permits. However, some complex projects or facilities may require an individual permit. The permits are issued by the (ADEQ). However, some of the duties regarding approval are passed down from ADEQ to the individual cities. Springdale is required to review and approve construction plans and issues a separate grading permit for these activities. Please reference the
Springdale Regulations section for further information on the
Grading Permit process.
