New subscriptions at the Springdale Public Library
The Springdale Public Library is excited to announce three new database subscriptions: The New York Times Online, Lynda.com, and AtoZ World Food. The New York Times Online subscription gives you unlimited access to NYTimes.com and you can now enjoy articles, blogs, videos, podcasts, real-time market data, and more, including full access to International, Chinese and Spanish editions.
You can access NYTimes.com in the Library or offsite by visiting our website where you will find a link to redeem an access code. Each access code provides 72 hours of access to NYTimes.com. After 72 hours, patrons are welcome to redeem additional codes through the Library’s website for continued access. NYTimes.com also includes 20,000 topic pages, which consolidates news, reference, and archival information in an easy-to-use format that is a reliable alternative to Wikipedia.
Lynda.com is another outstanding resource for video-based online learning, and has a library of more than 3,000 online learning courses. Lynda.com provides clear, video-based training and has added learning paths to help professionals gain new skills. Trainings include programming, graphics, video, Microsoft Office applications, sales and marketing, and business management.
AtoZ World Food is also a valuable learning database. It contains traditional recipes for 174 countries of the world in all course categories: appetizers, soups, salads, breads, main courses, side dishes, desserts, and beverages. With thousands of international recipes, hundreds of fascinating culture and ingredient articles, and essential culinary resources, AtoZ World Food brings international cuisines to you, from dishes such as Albanian byrek to Zimbabwean matemba!
