[ARCHIVED] Springdale Fire Department achieves class one ISO rating

Fire Department

The City of Springdale is excited to announce that the Springdale Fire Department (SFD) has achieved a class one Public Protection Classification (PPC) rating from the Insurance Services Office (ISO). The SFD has been a class two fire department since 2007. The class one rating will be effective as of Feb. 1, 2018.

ISO maintains a database of 44,000 fire districts, and Springdale joins only 300 other class one fire districts in the country. The rating schedule is based on the fire suppression capabilities of a community, and it takes into account the communication centers (dispatch), water services (Springdale Water Utilities), and the fire department. They also consider fire prevention, which includes duties performed by the Building Department, Code Enforcement, and the Fire Marshal.

We want to commend the hard work of the Springdale Fire Department, Springdale Water Utilities, and all of the dedicated public servants in the City of Springdale who have worked hard to make this happen.
