How to Register a Complaint
By Phone
Call 750-8549. This telephone number connects our residents with a specially-trained customer service representative that is ready to help you with your City service request.
How does it work?
A Customer Service Representative will answer your call and will ask for detailed information regarding your request. This information should include the address of the property in question and a description of the violation. This information is processed and sent to the appropriate Inspector for further action. Our Customer Service Representatives understand the importance of providing quality customer service the first time you call.
By Email
All email complaints should be forwarded to Code Enforcement.
The email should include the address of the property in question and a brief description of the concern (i.e., type of violation). Please be aware that all emails are subject to FOIA (Freedom of Information Act).
Walk Ins & by Mail
You may also register your complaint by simply walking into our office. The complaint should include the address of the property and a brief description of the concern (i.e., type of violation).
Our Process
Once a complaint is filed, our Inspector visits the site and confirms that a code violation is present. The Inspector may send a Notice of Violation to the property owners or issue a citation. The owners have a set amount of time to correct the violation. If property owners do not comply, Code enforcement may take any of the following actions depending on the situation.
Hire a contractor to clean the property and/or secure a dangerous building
Issue a ticket, resulting in a court appearance
Place liens on a property for unpaid bills
File a civil suit
It is our goal that all complaints will be investigated within 3 business days
