As handler Cpl Reed was promoted, K-9 Rizo retires to spend his time with Sgt Reed and family.
Rizo was born in January of 2017 in the Czech Republic then being imported in 2018 by Von Klein Stein Working Dogs to Arkansas. Rizo began his law enforcement career establishing a strong bond between him and [Then Officer] Sgt Reed. Rizo's dedication and hard work has been instrumental and beneficial not only to the citizens of Springdale but to Northwest Arkansas. Rizo has been deployed numerous times for various callouts including narcotic detection, SWAT call outs, missing persons, and fugitive apprehensions. Rizo was able to detect narcotics resulting in the location of 4 pounds of methamphetamines'; keeping the drug off the street.
One of Rizo's most notable events were when Rizo confronted a barricaded subject in an attic protecting the officers and civilians from harm from a repeat offender. Rizo also apprehended an armed robbery suspect after they fled from Police and hid in a neighborhood; protecting the innocent.
