Congratulations to Captain Paul Gateley. Captain Gateley has deep roots in Northwest Arkansas but has spent most of his childhood in South Korea, where his parents were Missionaries for over 15 years. Captain Gateley returned to Fayetteville and met his wife Karla Rae as a Senior at Fayetteville High School. Captain Gateley and Rae have been married for 43 years and have two sons and two grandchildren.

Captain Gateley attended the University of Arkansas, graduating with a degree in Architectural Studies, then attended Bible School, after which Captain Gateley and Rae went on to serve as missionaries in Japan for 16 years.

In 2009, after returning to Arkansas, Captain Gateley began his Law Enforcement Career with the Springdale Police Department. Captain Gateley has been a Field Training Officer, Drug Recognition Expert, and DRE instructor. After his promotion to Sergeant in 2015, Captain Gately served in Patrol and the Criminal Investigation Division. In 2021, Captain Gateley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, serving first on patrol and then in CID.

In his spare time, Captain Gateley enjoys spending time with his wife, riding bicycles on the greenway, and enjoying the diverse community of Springdale and the beauty of Northwest Arkansas.
