Last evening, we had the privilege of celebrating a special milestone at our Spring Pinning Ceremony. We welcomed new firefighters being officially sworn in and proudly recognized the promotions of outstanding individuals to Captain and Battalion Chief. These ceremonies are more than tradition—they're a testament to the commitment, courage, and leadership that define our department. The badges placed on each uniform represent not just rank, but the trust our community places in these men and women every day. To our newly sworn-in firefighters, welcome to the family. To our newly promoted leaders, your hard work and dedication have earned this moment. Thank you to all the families, friends, and community members who joined us to celebrate this night of honor and achievement. #FireDepartmentPride

This afternoon, firefighters responded to East Robinson Avenue for a fire involving a vehicle, as well as salvage parts. The origin was a controlled burn by a citizen, who was unaware of the City's burning permit process. Washington and Benton Counties remain under a burn ban. If you wish to burn inside the City of Springdale, you must first obtain a burn permit; this can be accomplished by going to the Springdale Fire Department website or by visiting the Fire Administration offices during regular business hours. Before you can obtain the free permit, you must agree to the rules for burning. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us at (479) 751-4510.

Last week, SFD members attended the Swift Water Technician course hosted by the Siloam Springs Fire Department! This is a very hands-on course that challenges skills in all types of swift water emergencies. Spring is here, and rain is in the forecast. Always remember to turn around and don't drown. #springdalefire #teamspringdale

Washington County, Arkansas, posted a weather alert for Washington County. Washington County Arkansas Judge Patrick W. Deakins, in consultation with the Washington County Department of Emergency Management & Homeland Security, the US National Weather Service Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the Arkansas Forestry Division, has issued a burn ban for all of Washington County until further notice. Warm temperatures, very low humidity, and stronger winds are expected to combine to produce an increased risk of fire danger. We are continuing to monitor this situation and will provide continuous updates.
