Our members of Northwest Arkansas Task Force 1 were released Sunday from their deployment to assist with the flooding events in Central Arkansas. They completed assignments to check houses and search for vehicles in high water at several locations in the Little Rock area. They have returned home safely to NWA!

This afternoon, firefighters responded to East Robinson Avenue for a fire involving a vehicle, as well as salvage parts. The origin was a controlled burn by a citizen, who was unaware of the City's burning permit process. Washington and Benton Counties remain under a burn ban.
If you wish to burn inside the City of Springdale, you must first obtain a burn permit; this can be accomplished by going to the Springdale Fire Department website or by visiting the Fire Administration offices during regular business hours. Before you can obtain the free permit, you must agree to the rules for burning. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us at (479) 751-4510.

Last week, SFD members attended the Swift Water Technician course hosted by the Siloam Springs Fire Department! This is a very hands-on course that challenges skills in all types of swift water emergencies. Spring is here, and rain is in the forecast. Always remember to turn around and don't drown. #springdalefire #teamspringdale

Firefighters have been extremely busy over the past 24 hours battling multiple fires. Weather conditions continue to pose high fire risks in our area, so we cannot stress enough the importance of no burning!

Firefighters are currently on the scene of a fully involved shop building fire. This is causing delays along Wagon Wheel Road between 40th & Silent Grove. Please avoid the area while crews are working. #teamspringdale #springdalefire

Washington County, Arkansas, posted a weather alert for Washington County.
Washington County Arkansas Judge Patrick W. Deakins, in consultation with the Washington County Department of Emergency Management & Homeland Security, the US National Weather Service Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the Arkansas Forestry Division, has issued a burn ban for all of Washington County until further notice.
Warm temperatures, very low humidity, and stronger winds are expected to combine to produce an increased risk of fire danger.
We are continuing to monitor this situation and will provide continuous updates.

Yesterday afternoon, crews were busy with two simultaneous fire incidents. The first was a grass fire near Shiloh Health and Rehab on Stultz Road. While crews were on that scene, a dumpster fire occurred at Northwest Medical Center, which extended into a portion of the structure. No injuries were reported at either incident.

This afternoon, Battalion 1, Engine 5, and Engine 3 responded to a mutual aid structure fire in Lowell. Crews assisted Lowell Fire with suppression and overhaul. No injuries were reported. #teamspringdale #springdalefire

Early this morning, crews responded to a residential structure fire on Kasey Avenue. Engine 5 arrived on the scene to find heavy fire from the front of the structure. The fire was extinguished and declared under control within about 16 minutes. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. #teamspringdale #springdalefire

Several of our recruit firefighters are nearing the end of their probationary period. Numerous checkoffs are required to demonstrate competence in their skills. Today, Engine 5 and Ladder 8 worked on vertical ventilation. This tactic helps improve conditions throughout a structure fire by removing the heat and smoke through an opening in the roof.. #teamspringdale #springdalefire

Today, Jarod Little was presented his red helmet for his recent promotion to the rank of Captain. Captain Little is assigned to the Community Risk Reduction Division as an Assistant Fire Marshal. Congratulations Captain Little!
