L8 is getting in reps on vehicle extrication. In vehicle accidents the patients can be difficult to access due to the damage of the vehicle. Here L8 is working on different door removal techniques to gain access into the patient compartment.
This evening B shift had a special delivery of some Slim Chickens. This gift was donated from a family that was expressing their gratitude to our crews for battling their house fire last month.

Engine 3 and Ladder 8 just cleared the scene of a grass fire on North Monitor Road. One of several grass fires crews have responded to today. No burning is being allowed due to windy conditions.
Beautiful weather means outdoor training! Crews got together to practice master stream pumping and complex water supplies.

Last night B-Shift responded to a residential structure fire. Crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the garage. The fire was contained to the garage and kitchen area. The rest of the structure did sustain heavy smoke damage. E3 crew was able to locate the family's dog and remove it successfully with no injuries. #teamspringdale #springdalefire

This afternoon units were dispatched to the 900 block of S. Thompson for a reported fire in an outbuilding. The fire was quickly extinguished by the first arriving units. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Due to the current weather conditions, all civil service interviews are postponed until tomorrow.

We're thrilled to share some heartwarming news! The Rockcrawlers 4x4 Club of Northwest Arkansas held their annual Rocktoberfest in October. New stuffed animals were donated to the fire department, using proceeds from this event.
