City of Springdale to host Fire Station 4 rededication ceremony
“Honoring the Past, Serving the Future” event highlights investment in public safety and regional fire training
Springdale, Ark. – April 20, 2026 – The City of Springdale will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the rededication of Fire Station 4, marking a significant investment in public safety and regional collaboration.
The event, titled “Honoring the Past, Serving the Future: Fire Station 4 Rededication,” recognizes the legacy of service associated with the original station while celebrating a newly constructed facility designed to meet the needs of a growing community.
The updated station improves emergency response capabilities and provides modern resources to support firefighters and first responders.
A key component of the project is the expansion of regional fire training. The city received $750,000 from the State of Arkansas to support regional training efforts, which allowed for the construction of a dedicated classroom space within the facility and the purchase of essential training equipment.
The investment will benefit not only the Springdale Fire Department but also surrounding departments across northwest Arkansas by enhancing training opportunities and strengthening regional preparedness.
Mayor Doug Sprouse said the project reflects both tradition and forward-thinking planning.
“This facility honors the firefighters who have served our community while ensuring we are prepared for the future,” Sprouse said. “The addition of regional training resources strengthens our ability to serve Springdale and support our partners across northwest Arkansas.”
Fire Chief Blake Holte said the new station will have a lasting impact on operations and training.
“This long-awaited new building combines valued traditions of the Fire and EMS Service with a proactive approach to Firefighter health and wellness,” Holte said. “It reflects the support of the City of Springdale, the support of the State of Arkansas and the culture we have in a regional approach to training and emergency service delivery.”
