Did you know car washes keep pollutants out of our streams?
When you wash your car on the driveway or street the dirt, grease, and soap can wash into storm drains that empty directly to our creeks and streams! This can have negative effects on our waterways like excessive algae growth and decreased fish populations.
That's why the preferred method is to wash your car at a carwash, where the water will go to a wastewater treatment plant.
Pledge to use a car wash this summer by visiting www.knowtheflownwa.com and be entered to win free car washes from ZIPS!

Have you noticed the pollinator prairie and riparian restoration work happening downtown along Spring Creek and at JB Hunt Park?
Riparian areas and natural prairies play a crucial role in maintaining healthy ecosystems. These zones, found along the stream banks of Spring Creek are vital for:
🌱 Water Quality: Riparian buffers filter pollutants, reducing runoff and improving water quality.
🦋 Biodiversity: They provide habitat for a wide range of species, promoting rich biodiversity, and attracting butterflies!
🌾 Erosion Control: Natural prairies and riparian vegetation stabilize soil, preventing erosion.
🌞 Flood Mitigation: These areas help absorb excess rainwater, reducing the risk of flooding.
As part of the restoration efforts, herbicide application is needed in order to control invasive species. Keep an eye for trail closures in the coming weeks! The trails will be closed for an hour or two and the detour below will be available during these times. (We will post when the trails are closed as we get closer to that time!)
We absolutely love this program! Today, we welcomed the Springdale Chamber of Commerce’ “Experience Springdale” class to Springdale City Hall for a panel discussion with Mayor Sprouse, City Officials, and City Department Heads.
They discussed topics such as city growth, public safety, upcoming developments and more!
As always, we enjoyed our visit and look forward to welcoming the next Experience Springdale class!

On Wednesday, Colby Fulfer, Chief of Staff, and Councilman Randall Harriman had the opportunity to speak and give a tour of Springdale City Hall to kids in the Marshallese Youth Initiative through the Springdale Chamber of Commerce.
They learned all about Mayor Doug Sprouse, what his responsibilities are, and how the City of Springdale operates. They also learned about the many responsibilities of the Mayor's Chief of Staff and the elected City Council Members.
Thank you to the Springdale Chamber of Commerce for allowing us to be a part of this special day!
